Description

All chickens need grit in their diet. Grit is made up of small, hard particles such as crushed granite. These particles are swallowed by the chicken and stored in its gizzard. The stored grit helps to grind up the food they eat, making it easier for them to digest and absorb the nutrients. Offer as free choice in their forage area.

Size #1 is best from hatching to 8 weeks; size #2 is appropriate from 8 weeks to 20 weeks; and size #3 is for all laying hens. For Broilers, switch from size #1 to size #3 at about 4 weeks.
